In the 300th anniversary of St. Martin-In-The-Fields church, CWGLA are providing 90 minute walks unveiling the history of the area.

The City of Westminster guides are organising 5 walks on Sunday March 29th 2026 to raise money for ‘The Connection at St. Martin-In-The-Fields’ a charity supporting and improving the lives of rough sleepers in the heart of the capital.

The same 90 minute walk at various departure times, will feature various trailblazers and influencers. We will encounter a monarch dedicated to fine art and architecture. The ultimate symbol of love. Fighters for equality. A prolific painter with his own wing of Tate Britain. A founder of the United States. An author who seems to have drunk in every pub in Covent Garden. A back to front church plus one celebrating 300 years! On top of this a wit, raconteur, poet and playwright imprisoned and ruined for engaging in ‘the love that dare not speak its name’

Starts and ends by the entrance to ‘The Crypt’ on St. Martin-In-The-Fields Church Path. WC2.

The proceeds from the walk will be donated to The Connection at St Martin in the Field

The Connection at St-Martin-In-The-Fields works with people who are rough sleeping to move away from, and stay off the streets of London, focusing on working alongside people as they recover from life on the streets and move towards a meaningful, fulfilling future.

“We believe that no one should have to sleep rough, and that everyone should get the support they need to find a place to call home”.

The cost of the walk is set at £12.50 (plus £1.75 booking fee) which will provide 3 people experiencing homelessness with a hot, nutritious meal, for most the only meal they will have all day.
