Scientists and Monster

Tour dates and times:

Sunday - 25 August 2024 - 12:30

This tour looks at the 19th Century and some of literatures most gothic creations. We visit the Royal Institution that inspired Mary Shelley’s Dr Frankenstein, the library from which Count Dracula arose and the surgeon’s Soho home that shaped Dr Jekyll.

We talk about the scientists such as Ada Lovelace and Charles Darwin that lived and worked in this amazing part of Westminster. But we also look at the more sinister side of science and its impact when we visit the Linnean Society.

If you love Lord Byron, are Wild about Wilde, or just interested in Newton this could be your tour.
