London Heritage Quarter Free Walks

Westminster Guides are working with London Heritage Quarter to offer three free lunch time walks telling the story of Westminster – all require booking through Eventbrite, and we will provide links to the walks when general booking opens.

  • 1st October The Rise of a Royal Seat of Power – Discover the beginnings of Westminster from 10th Century Monastery to Edward the Confessor’s medieval seat of power and beyond, in our 1 hour walking tour along the river with Westminster Guide Pernille, finishing at Old Palace Yard.
  • 9th October Medieval Palaces along the Riverfront – Explore the development of a grand processional route linking Royal Westminster with the City of London from Saxon times to the innovations of the Victorians. Discover the story – and a few remnants of the grand palaces that once lined the route – in our 1 hour walking tour with Westminster Guide Dr Stephen King, finishing in the gardens near Embankment Tube station.
  • 14th October The Lost Palace of Whitehall – Discover the story of the Lost Palace of Whitehall. What clues remain of the massive palace complex developed by Henry VIII in the 1500s? Our 1 hour walking tour, led by Westminster Guide Tim Jacobs finishes on the Embankment near Embankment Tube station.
