He is a member of Guildhall Art Gallery guiding team. He leads guided walks around ‘Silicon Roundabout’ the aspiring Shoreditch financial-technology area with its vibrant street art and around the rapidly changing King’s Cross urban regeneration landscape. He ventures east to Canary Wharf!
The themes of his tours can cover architecture, literature, great characters, journalism, street art, engineering, the Lord Mayor, the River Thames and its commercial history, legal developments from Magna Carta, and green technology
Robert arranges and leads full-day tours which can include The Changing of the Guard, site visits to the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, British Museum and City churches.
He offers talks on diverse subjects such as Joseph Bazalgette, statuary and London Bridge.
He is a Friend of The City Churches and has the Freedom of the City of London and has co-authored a book on Lord Mayors’ portraits.
