Richard is a professional freelance history tour guide, leading bus and coach tours in London and around the country and devises and leads themed walks in London as one half of “Trails of the City” (see www.trailsofthecity.com). He is also a volunteer steward, guide and trustee of the Crystal Palace Museum.
Richard has also presented a number of Illustrated talks to U3A (University of the Third Age) groups, Westminster guiding students and the Crystal Palace Museum; he has also been interviewed on Radio Berkshire and Croydon digital about London history and interviewed on “Mysteries at the Castle” television programme for the Travel Chanel, a satellite channel. Richard worked for Fulham Palace for six years as a Reception Assistant and for over 20 years in the civil service and is a trained actor with considerable experience of acting and directing in fringe and community theatre.
Richard has lived and worked in London all his life. He has a passion to bring to life the dramatic ebbing and flowing history of the city and to show off its great thoroughfares, squares and buildings as well as the lesser known alleyways and byways.
