I’m a first generation Brit who has lived around London for most of my life. I have seen it change from a drab grey to the wonderful vibrant and colourful city it is today. I am keen to share my enthusiasm for its history and culture through guiding its nooks and crannies as well as more famous landmarks. As an avid traveller and someone whose family chose to come and live here, I’m interested in its connections with people from around the world. Several of my walks have an international theme. I also lived and worked in America for a time and have a special fondness for exploring our joint history.
My background is in the social sciences, gaining my degree at The City University, now part of the University of London. Social history and bringing the past to life through stories is one of my passions: it’s why I am a volunteer at the newly opened Biggin Hill Memorial Museum which tells the human story of the RAF station there.
I also love the quirky and the trivial and hope to entertain as well as inform as I guide you around our wonderful City.
